Bargaining Team

The LEA negotiates all employee Contracts and, when necessary, Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) for its members. An MOA is a written document describing a cooperative relationship between two parties wishing to work together to meet an agreed upon objective. The MOA serves as a legal document that clarifies or amends terms of an existing contract.

As of 10/2/20, the LEA Bargaining Team is continuing to develop an MOA specific to COVID-19 Pandemic Plans for 2020-2021. The MOA will modify the existing ratified contracts for the working conditions we will be in for the 20-21 school year including hybrid, remote, and possibly full return modes of instruction. It will address everything from workday to work year, to changes to the supervision system, to health and safety parameters, to staff leaves, to sick bank to substituting, to staff transfers.

The bargaining team meets frequently with administration and the Lexington School Committee, and keeps members updated – either through direct communication or through updates done by building reps – as the process unfolds.

The MOA Bargaining Team includes the following LEA members:

Avon Lewis, Jill Coleman (MTA), KellyAlexandra Casey (LCP), Amanda Laskowski (Bridge), Amy Morin (Hastings), Deidre Huff (Diamond), Jason Ianuzzi  (LHS), Jean Bitton (Bowman), Jennipher Burgess (Hastings), Jesse Richardson (Estabrook), Karen Hurley (LHS), Kathy Thompson (CO), Kelly Suber (LHS), Kim Rogerson Carl (Harrington/Bowman), Laura Sheppard-Brick (LHS), Lynne Murray (Bridge), Mary Tambor (Clarke), Mary Zeytoonian (Clarke), Mayumi Kearns (Bowman), Remy Coombs (Diamond) Troy Lemay (Diamond),Valya Sountsova (LHS)
